Greenville Community Garden

The mission of the Greenville Community Garden and Orchard is to grow fresh, local food and to donate it to organizations that support those in need around Pitt County.

Both the Greenville Community Garden and Orchard are located, just off the Tar River Greenway near East Carolina University, in the downtown area of Greenville, North Carolina.  This garden provides fresh produce and nutrition education to families and local youth who do not have access to fresh vegetables. The Pitt County area has some of the highest rates of obesity and diabetes in the state.  Providing access to free, fresh produce can help change these statistics for members of our community.  Produce will be harvested throughout the seasons and distributed to the First Born Community Development Center whose donations have drastically reduced and greatly need our help with food, especially fresh produce.

In preparation for the next planting season, Greenville Community Garden is in need of  for funding the following:

Soil
Seeds
Straw
Plants
Mulch
Fertilizer
Water Bill
Insurance
Fruit Bushes

Love A Sea Turtle is dedicated to marine and ocean conservation awareness by engaging students in leadership development and environmental stewardship, inspiring others to get involved in year-round service projects and conservation activities, and providing nature-based programs for under-served youth.
